To begin the assistance process,
call 706-260-0119. Please note - our phone is staffed by volunteers during weekdays. A limited number of appointments are available each week. Families may receive up to $300 may be received for rent or utility bills only. An appointment is not a guarantee of assistance. Financial assistance is provided to a family only once within a 12 month period and not more than two times in a lifetime. After the first visit, a budget class will be required before an appointment can be scheduled.Qualifications...Candidates must be residents of Murray County for a minimum of 6 months who have a regular monthly income, social security cards for everyone in their home, can provide proof of residency (must have signed lease or mortgage statement), and have an emergency or crisis that prevents them from paying their current bill. Clients are seen by appointment ONLY and have an opportunity to share their current need with an interviewer who looks over the information provided by the client in order help review family budget, set goals, and provide referrals. |
